What does it mean to adopt a school?
By adopting a school the churches, businesses, or individuals will focus their evangelistic energy into a school of their choice to which they have existing links. We serve high/secondary schools with grade 8 learners with the Word of God.
WHY SHOULD CHURCHES/BUSINESSES/INDIVIDUALS ADOPT A SCHOOL?
”Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:16 (ESV).
By adopting a school the churches, businesses, or individuals will focus and channel their evangelistic energy into a high/secondary school of their choice to which they have existing links.
We serve high/secondary schools with grade 8 learners with the Word of God.
The ‘Adopt a School’ initiative provides churches, businesses, or individuals the ideal opportunity to bring Evangelism closer to home by supporting the spreading of the Gospel in their own community and thus contributing to the mission of ensuring that every grade 8 learner receives the Word of God.
HOW DO I ADOPT A SCHOOL?
Anyone who loves Jesus and wants to expand His Kingdom and financially support The Gideons International in South Africa.
Ask a local Gideon member to provide a list of schools that are available for adoption or contact the Gideons
Choose a school for which Testaments will be sponsored.
A local Gideon member will confirm payment arrangements and ensure that the church/business/individual is represented at the next Bible placement at the school/schools of your choice.
HOW YOU CAN HELP?
The church, business, or individual can be involved in the issuing of Testaments to learners without being a Gideon.
