I grew up in a poor family in the district of Luminosa (Brazópolis, MG). In 1975 my father died and we moved to another district, my mother, my brothers – 8 and 6 years old and a two-month-old baby, and myself, at 2 and a half years old. There we lived with some difficulties, but we had liberty to run around, come and go. When I was 12, I moved to Itajubá to finish schooling. Since it was the dream of the entire family to have a priest in the family, I had the pretension to go to a Catholic seminary. At the age of 14 I started in the Roman Catholic Church and became a catchiest because I wanted to do something for God. I even took a course in Charismatic Renovation, but something was missing. It was then I decided I did not want anything to do with the Church and the priesthood dream was over. I started working at the same company where Brother Cláudio Nunes worked, and he began to talk about Jesus to us all the time,

witnessing about what God had done in his life. He used the New Testament to preach to me. So, I found myself willing to do something for God again. In 1992, while in military service, again I thought about going to a seminary aſter dismissal. During the same year I was invited to take part in an open- air evangelical service and I had an encounter with Jesus. Many people spoke to me about Jesus, but the brother with the New Testament stayed in my mind. I was baptized on February 14, 1993 and today I am an elder at the Assemblies of God. I am also in charge of a greatly blessed congregation. The dream of doing something for God became a reality in my life. Everything started with a simple sermon and a small Bible, but of great value. Let’s help this Ministry; it helped me and will help many others. The Gideons International
