You can impact lives when you pass away, by leaving a bequest in your will to The Gideons International in South Africa; making us a beneficiary in your insurance policies or investments, or adding a codicil to your will.
Impacting people for eternity after you have passed away.
When Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave us the Holy Spirit as a legacy. Likewise, you and I can also leave something behind that can change people’s lives from generation to generation. What you have achieved in your career means nothing compared to the influence you can have on the lives and hearts of people in need of the Good News.
Each of us knows what impact a Bible can have on people’s lives. You may have had such an experience yourself and there are also many testimonies confirming it.
In our temporary existence here on earth, we are placing the Word of God in people’s hands and hearts. However, what happens when we exchange the temporary with eternity and sit at God’s feet in heaven? Will those who remain behind still be able to continue with His commandment here on earth? If there are enough people, will there be enough Bibles?
Even when you have completed your assignment here on earth, you can still secure a lasting change in people’s lives by making use of the Legacy Program in one of the following ways:

There is a purpose for your existence here on earth: To mean something to someone and have an impact on his or her life. A true legacy enriches people’s lives, not a large building, an inheritance, success, or achievement.
As we grow older, we often wonder if life has any sense and meaning – What have we achieved or not achieved in life? In his book Ecclesiastes, Solomon also asked the same questions and shared his fears for a life without purpose with us.
Consider the following illustration: How many pips are in a pear? Approximately four to eight, sometimes a little more. BUT how many pears are in a pip? When we plant a pear seed, and the tree grows, it will carry thousands of pears, with thousands of seeds. These pips again result in thousands of trees carrying millions of pears. How many pears are in a pip?
